  • Worked one-on-one with at-risk youth in mentor and English teaching capacities.

  •  Project RISE: Administered surveys through a randomized control trial to over 700 students in Duval County Public Schools.

  • Research focus on prevention and intervention for emotional and behavioral matters for adolescents in schools.

Crisis Textline

Crisis Counselor

  • Participated in a 30-hour training course to help provide the best support for texters.

  • Actively took on 2+ hour shifts twice a week to communicate with texters.

  • Utilized empathy and active listening to listen to texters’ problems.

  • Provided support for a variety of issues: depression, anxiety, familial issues, suicide, etc.

  • Helped texter create an action plan to help the texter stay safe during a time of high suicide risk.

  • Helped texter formulate alternate coping mechanisms to help cope with future crisis situations.

  • Contacted families to schedule follow-up visits.
